What the role involves
This is an all-rounder position rather than a single fixed job. Everyone in the house does a bit of everything, and the work is shared rather than rostered. In practice that means the daily clean, laundry and linen, being around to let guests in and answer basic questions, and generally keeping the place in order.
The house cleans together every morning, from around 9.30am to midday. Across a week it comes to roughly 15 hours. There is no shift roster to memorise and no manager standing over you. Once the morning is done, the rest of the day is yours.

Who it suits
It works best for someone who is an early starter, reliable, and happy working as part of a small team. You will be sharing a room, so it suits people who are comfortable with that. We are looking for people who can commit for six months or more, so it is not a good fit if you are only in Melbourne for a few weeks.
Previous cleaning experience helps but is not essential. Being tidy by nature matters more.
